Family ride in CB! Nothing to complain about (but I find a way to complain about the climb anyways). The Teocalli climb is no joke! This time of year, there’s a river flowing down parts of the trail. If it looks like you should bushwack around the river - don’t. Go through!

Big loop on a trail bike but hugely rewarding! We parked at the Fountain Place Road x Saxon Tie Road intersection and pedaled the Powerline Road to High Meadows Road to Star Lake Road. If there was a way to shuttle this road by getting around the gate, that would make this lap even better. The road is a steep grind and covers about half of the elevation gain.

Starting at 2pm during a heat wave, even in the mountains, is not the best idea. We did it anyway! Overall, a gorgeous loop.

Big day of pedaling, ahoy! Woke up at a perfect secret camp spot and kicked off the day with some fog and rain at Salt Creek Falls. Then head into town for a coffee at Mane Street Coffee before hitting the trails.

Growing up racing mountain bikes, I have heard about Downieville and the Downieville classic almost my entire life. So as soon as we moved to Nevada and learned that Downieville is only 1.5 hours away, we knew we had to go check it out.

Wow! We had a heck of a crew for Trail to Ale - 9 people! A leisurely full day of mountain biking. For Fernie Brewing Co’s 20 year anniversary, they tacked on a 4th trail to be entered into a raffle to win some sort of prize. Though winning the prize was unlikely, we figured we’d do the 4th trail anyway and that we would start with it.

What better way to spend an early Father’s Day than a 3-day bike packing trip? My dad, Tim, Lauren, and I planned a trip to bike from Rossland to Summerland. Along the way, we planned to stay in Grand Forks and Rock Creek.

After two beers at RBC the previous night, I was shockingly hungover for a bright and early pick up (7am) for a shuttle for Seven Summits. Never the less I persisted.

Went to visit Kelsea on the coast… impulse bought a new bike. C’est la vie. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ahhh the 401 trail in Crested Butte. Is there any more of a classic? Though Justin, my dad and I have ridden this trail more than a few times, it’s tough to make a trip out to Crested Butte without taking a rip down this trail. In the past, I have always biked up to this trail from town, but this time we were lucky to have my mom kindly shuttle us to the top!
