Rockwall, Kootenay National Park, BC | 56km, 2650m
After two months of little to no training, Justin, Erin, and I decided we were ready to run Rockwall - a 56km (~35mi) trail with 2650m (~8700ft) of elevation gain. What could possibly go wrong? Nothing! (is what we proved)
Trail profile - we ran from Floe Lake to Paint Pots
Enthusiastic start!
6am sunrise
Approaching Floe Lake (~8km)
Practicing water filtration; Floe Lake (~10km)
Numa Pass (~17km)
Cresting Numa Pass + After Numa Pass (~20km)
That sweet sweet mountain water after horrific bushwacking; Tumbling Glacier (~26km)
Rockwall Pass (~30km)
Looking back from Rockwall Pass to the previous two passes (~30km)
Helmet Falls (~37km)
Suspension bridge after the longest 8km to ever exist (~45km); Paint Pots (feat. the back of my head so you don't see the tears) (~55km)
Great success!
