Redwood National and State Parks, CA

Imagine if we didn’t cut down so much old growth? Imagine old growth pow skiing in the mountains. Imagine mountain bike flow trails through old growth.

We took a trip out to Redwood National and State Parks in Northern California to marvel at giants.

We camped at the Gold Bluffs Beach campground, so we started our weekend getaway with a walk through Fern Canyon (1.1mi).

Caution!!

This beautiful canyon elicits nostalgia - we belong near water, we belong in the rain forest.

From there, we drove the Scenic Parkway through the national park and stopped at every little trail. Of course, we checked out The Big Tree. Big trees everywhere!

We then drove North to Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park and walked the Boy Scout Tree Trail to Fern Falls (5.2 mi).

On the drive back to camp, we stopped by Wilson Creek Beach and took in the view of False Klamath Cove. False Klamath Rock is a protected area for at least 8 native bird species and marinelife.

Ahh, the coast 💚
