Slick Rock, Captain Ahab, and Bartlett Wash, Moab, UT

Quick Thanksgiving getaway to the desert. We like to break up the drive from the front range of Colorado by camping in Fruita on the way.

First ride back to Moab in several years was, of course, and obligatory Slickrock lap.

We camped at Utahraptor State Park with some friends that were on their own adventures. One was wrapping up a season of being a traveling bike rep; the other was off-roading Hell’s Revenge.

After some coffee and breakfast burritos at Love Muffin, we rode a classic loop - up Amasa Back, towards Pothole Arch, loop Rockstacker, and down Captain Ahab.

I don’t know how I lived before my Red 40 ride snack existed.

To wrap up our trip, we checked out the free ride area over at Bartlett Wash. The toilet bowl is so cool, I love steep rock!

And checked out a small natural tunnel! Tusher’s tunnel was formed by water seeping through a crack.
