First Flatiron - North Arete, Boulder, CO | 5.4 - 5 pitches

Boyyy after a heck of a time driving to Colorado down from BC and a chaotic week - we wanted to squeeze in a quick lap of the first flatiron.

(quick synopsis):

       

The conditions were “alpine simulator” conditions. The wind was swirling and the temps were dropping but we refused to have a bad time.

   

Approach; Notch to start the North Arete

   

On the arete; Justin building rapid anchors

A quick run up was worth the classic Boulder view! My 3 jackets in the second picture are a good indicator of the weather (or perhaps I am just a coward).

   

Then a quick rap down from bolted rap rings. How people get down after soloing – I do not understand.
